Who are we?

Talk for Change is the single point of access for adult mental health and talking therapy services in Milton Keynes.

This service was developed by former service users and staff with you in mind. We aim to provide quick assessment so that there are no delays in getting the help that you need.

What to expect

After we receive a referral you will be contacted by somebody from our admin team who will arrange an assessment appointment for you.

For ease of access, these assessments are usually done on the telephone and typically last around 30 to 40 minutes. However, face to face assessments are also available and one of these may be offered if we feel we need more information to make a decision about your treatment, or if it better suits your circumstances.

After your assessment we will usually arrange a follow-up telephone call with you. During this call we will discuss your options for treatment. Treatment may be a course of counselling or a range of other therapies with our wellbeing and Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services, or a referral to one of the adult mental health services. You will always be consulted before a referral is made on your behalf.

Please note: Some of the services provided by Talk for Change may require you to pay a contribution. You will be informed of any costs before you use our service.
